TED Talk Reflection

My TED Talk? We don't talk about that here.
But seriously. The whole thing was too brief, and I left out a whole lot of information. Overall, I think the talk was about a minute? I don't know. I just wanted off the stage.
The Iron Canvas is (still) broken, and I don't have the motivation to fix it. I already asked Reddit about what I thought was the problem, I have yet to discover other suspicious artifacts, and I don't want anyone to find the bug for me (I take pride in my work, I'll have you know). This isn't just any bug; it's a no-see-um.
So, I bombed on the TED Talk. I don't have stage fright, I just have chronic I-want-off-the-stage-nowitis.
Thanks for your time.

I switched to using a text editor to create my program. I am determined to get this to work, but so far it's not going well. I managed to get a little progress in, but I can't tell where the end of the tunnel is due to the 90° turn that is this bug I can't identify. Hopefully I can find and squish this bug, because it's really frustrating.

This Isn't Looking Good.

So, I tried something out on my thing. I don't know if it's something I did, or it's just the Chrome Dev Editor, but one thing's for sure: something's broken.
I'll try to switch to a more reliable source to edit, or even edit HTML and JS files right out of the box with a text editor. If that doesn't work, I'll have no other choice but to abandon my project, at least for a while. I might come back to it should that happen.

Something happened....

I did something. I don't know if this is me getting closer, or me drifting farther away from my goal, but... here goes.
I found out that in one of my for loops, I had told it to loop until the times it looped is less than when it should stop. That made the program keep saying "yes" when I ran it, and that's why I was having that problem. I ended up changing it to when the times it loops was equal to when it should stop.
Now it won't accept ANYTHING, and if you try to press Continue with nothing on the canvas, the program freezes. I feel like I was closer before...

Hi there.

So, a few things happened this month:

  • The Idea Showcase... it could've been better. It's not that I did bad on my presentation, (unlike some people) it's that ten people maximum showed. Including the teachers. And the worst part is, nobody signed up to be a mentor for anybody (as far as I saw) which was the whole purpose of Idea Showcase!
  • I finally got the project itself working... kinda. It recognizes when you don't draw anything the first time and draw something the second time. It looks better, too:
  • It's a leap day cv ghjdsbwqrhjcgnbehcnmjfsg bfsjreiywhrgtrhjtfrcejtey wheifebhJHYGVB FFBGHCbfegrfgwefwhrefhhgehrCEHRGCNWCJGVWCCCCVBNBVCDRGFCRFGSGHFWDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
That's... actually about it. Bye.

It's Coming Together a Bit!

So, as you may know, there is an Idea Showcase coming up soon. It's coming together a bit, as, even though I am not in possession of a trifold board, I already have my resources and trifold layout ready. I've also made some progress on the app, of course.

That's about it. You can leave now. Bye~

A glimpse of what I've been doing. This is at 7 point font, by the way, and it isn't the only tab of code. I have one tab that has over 200 lines... :)

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Story time.
So I was trying to program an instruction to "do the not yet implemented" to fade away after a couple seconds. But no matter how I did it-- targeting the paragraph, targeting the id, everything --ended in a big fat rectangle sitting there, not doing what I want it to.
I just found out how to fix it today. My program looked a lot like this:
And ya know what happened?
Whenever you click near a bracket, it shows where the matching one is by showing a light gray rectangle around the other bracket. So when I clicked on one bracket in specific, not expecting anything to happen because by that point I had given up:
Apparently, that bracket matched the script that said "Hey, do this when the window loads", meaning that it excluded the script to make the thing fade out out of the entire PROGRAM. Long story short, I banished that bracket to the bottom of the page after crying for five minutes. I'm welcome~ :)

Some Progress!

Hi again! :)
I have some progress reports right here. I've been working on this, and I'm really happy with the outcome!

  • Bunched the pixels up side-by-side instead of a few pixels in between
  • Added a colored border around all 192 pixels
  • Each individual pixel has its own numerical ID
  • Fixed a bug where going fullscreen would spread the pixels awkwardly
  • Added instructions to do the not yet implemented
That's all for now! I plan to add the verification system to tell whether it's close enough or not next.

Idea Showcase

A new matter has come up. It will allow me to share my idea with others who decide to come to the event. It's called Idea Showcase. It's a lot like a science fair, except it's not. A bunch of trifolds will be around, each with a unique 20% Time project. This is gonna be fun! :)
I don't know anything other than that. Yep. kthxbai
